The Safer Partnership Service is a unique partnership between the London Borough of and the Metropolitan Police Service, bringing together police and local authority staff within a single structure. Its aim is to make the safest borough in London, by providing exceptional services within the field of community safety and tackling drugs or alcohol abuse.

Police work in partnership with Council on many issues including parks policing, licensing and CCTV and work to ensure that remains one of the safest boroughs in London.
They have a number of teams of dedicated officers:
Response Team officers - responding to emergency calls
Plain-clothes officers - detecting offences and offenders
Town Centre Teams - providing high visibility patrols and enforcement.
For Police station call: 020 8649 1212

Safer Parks Teams
In an initiative largely funded by Council there are two parks teams to tackle crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour in the borough's parks and open spaces. To help detect offenders, the teams have the latest military specification technology including night vision devices and thermal imaging cameras that track heat sources, like body heat and vehicle engines.

Safer Transport Team
With funding provided from Transport for London (TfL), the safer transport team operates on buses and around the transport network in the borough to target crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour. They also work to improve passenger perceptions of safety and security.

Safer Neighbourhood Teams
Neighbourhood Watch maintains a close working relationship with the Metropolitan Police Safer Neighbourhoods Teams which are about local policing, with police and partners working with us to identify and tackle issues of concern in our neighbourhood.
There are 18 Safer Neighbourhoods Teams and a Town Centre Neighbourhood Team in the borough of , which are dedicated to our community and are additional to other policing teams and units in London. Each team is normally made up of six police and Police Community Support Officers. Their aim is to listen and talk to us to find out what affects our daily life and feelings of security. Then, they work in partnership with us and other agencies to find a lasting solution. Full details are found on the Safer Neighbourhood Team web page.
