Bank Courier Scam Fraud
Police have received six reports of bogus telephone callers
purporting to come from banks or the Serious Fraud Office
between 12th-20th August targeting elderly and vulnerable
residents.
The callers hope to trick you into revealing your bank details and
PIN number - and arrange for your bank cards to be collected
from your address. One Sutton resident had more than £1,000
taken from her account.
If you receive such a call, report it to police on 999 immediately.
If you have been a victim of this crime, call police on 101.
Please don’t reveal your bank details including PIN to anyone -
banks will already have these details and will never ask for your
card back.
